Hi, I am Salima Mohammed, CEO and founder of RedBead company.

I am a graduate of university of development studies with a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

I am currently working as a nurse officer at Komfo Anokye Teaching hospital in the Ashanti region of Ghana.

I started beading business in 2018 way back in university when I was studying for my bachelor’s program in nursing.

Before that, I had tried other businesses as well. Some of which included selling of sneakers, ladies shoes , bags, panties, groundnut paste, Shea butter and wig making but with all these businesses I realized I could not showcase the creativity in me, hence my decision to stick with bead making.

I started very little with just few strands of beads, did few samples, took pictures and then posted it. surprisingly, people loved it and placed orders.

Being new to the world of beading, I decided to self teach myself by reading more about it especially here in Ghana and its cultural significance.
